La HAC y el cementerio de Bunhill. Londres. HAC and Bunhill Fields Burial Ground. London.

Fundada en 1537, esta compañía es la segunda organización militar más antigua del mundo, por detrás tan solo de la Guardia Suiza del Vaticano.


Founded in 1537, it’s the second oldest military organisation in the world (behind the Vatican’s Pontifical Swiss Guard).

Curiosamente, el cuartel está situado en City Road (Spitalfields), Londres, al sur del cementerio de Bunhill. No obstante, ninguno de sus moradores está allí por culpa de la compañia...


It’s located on City Road (Spitalfields), London, casually at the south of the Bunhill Fields Burial Ground. Nevertheless, any of its inhabitants is there because the action of the military company…

Este cementerio de Bunhill se extiende a lo largo de 4 hectáreas en el distrito de Islington.


Bunhill Fields is a cemetery in the London Borough of Islington, north of the City of London. It’s about 4 hectares in extent, although historically was much larger.


En él reposan los restos de gente como el matemático Thomas Bayes, famoso por su teorema sobre probabilidades condicionadas, o el autor de Robinson Crusoe (Daniel Defoe).

It contains the graves of many notable people, like William Blake (painter, poet), Thomas Bayes (mathematician), Daniel Defoe (author of Robinson Crusoe).




Una agradable excursión por una zona poco conocida del este de Londres.
